Hi Kelly,

Yes, this does apply for VA loans as well. What they are looking for is to see if you have taken on any new debts since you applied. Make sure you don’t apply for any new credit cards or purchase anything major (appliances, car, furniture, etc) until you close on your transaction because it can increase your debt to income and your loan can be denied at that point.
